Swedish Massage is the best known and most commonly offered massage. If you have never had a massage before this is a great place to start. Benefits of Swedish massage are that it promotes relaxation, eases muscle tension, calms the nervous system, improves blood circulation, and helps with pain management (for health conditions such as arthritis, muscle spasms and muscle cramps).

The Swedish system revolves around the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology and includes the traditional manual techniques of effleurage, petrissage, vibration, friction and tapotement. Many European and Western massage styles are variations on the Swedish system.

Swedish massage offers the opportunity for your body to recover from the effects of stress in your daily life. To make each experience unique your therapist will visit with you prior to your session to create a massage with your individual concerns in mind.

30/60/90 minutes · $30/55/85

Benefits of Massage and Bodywork

Alleviates low back pain

Enhances immunity

Helps athletes prepare for and recover from workouts

Improves quality of sleep

Reduces muscle spasms and cramping

Relaxes and softens injured, ooverused muscles

Relieves migraine pain

Gary Young, this technique uses seven different essential oils including oregano, thyme, basil, wintergreen, cypress, marjoram and two additional oil blends.

The recipient is lying face down on a massage table and the oils are dropped along the spine. The oils are then massaged in and a heated damp compress is applied to enhance absorption. The high quality essential oils bring the body into balance due to their antiviral and antibacterial properties. This technique is very relaxing and detoxifying.

Unlike “traditional” massage (which takes place on a table and involves the kneading of muscles), Thai massage uses assisted stretching and pressure-point stimulation to encourage relaxation and circulation in tired and sore bodies. Clients often note feeling both relaxed and revived. In many ways, Thai massage is like having yoga done to you. For this reason, Thai massage takes place on a large mat, uses no oils or lotions, and requires comfortable, moveable clothing rather than being undressed. Your practitioner will move your body through a series of stretches and muscle work while you focus on breathing and de-stressing. You might even notice that modern practices such as sports medicine and physical therapy have borrowed from the ancient techniques in Thai massage. In combination with aromatherapy and herbal compresses, Thai massage benefits the body and the spirit.

Bring the aromas and traditions from the East to the West. The Thai Herbal compress is helpful if you have chronic tension in your back, neck, and shoulders, or low back, hips and legs.

This treatment uses a potent combination of healing herbs to melt tension away. The herbs ease muscle pain and promote healing of strains, sprains and bruises.

Herbs are wrapped in unbleached cotton and steamed to release the beneficial oils and essences. The hot compress is then applied to the body allowing the heat and herbal components to penetrate deep into the affected tissue.

The herbal bundles can also be heated in a dry manner and applied to the body with the same positive effects on the tissue.

60/90 minutes · $65/95
