Thai Massage

December 29, 2010 by admin 1 Comment

Thai massage must be experienced to be fully understood and appreciated. Unlike “traditional” massage (which takes place on a table and involves the kneading of muscles), Thai massage uses assisted stretching and pressure-point stimulation to encourage relaxation and circulation in tired and sore bodies. Clients often note feeling both relaxed and revived. In many ways, Thai massage is like having yoga done to you. For this reason, Thai massage takes place on a large mat, uses no oils or lotions, and requires comfortable, moveable clothing rather than being undressed. Your practitioner will move your body through a series of stretches and muscle work while you focus on breathing and de-stressing. You might even notice that modern practices such as sports medicine and physical therapy have borrowed from the ancient techniques in Thai massage. In combination with aromatherapy and herbal compresses, Thai massage benefits the body and the spirit.
